High-Oleic Sunflower Oil from Ukraine Is Expanding Its Export Geography
Ukrainian high-oleic sunflower oil is gradually changing its export geography due to shifts in global demand and changing trade priorities among key importers. At the same time, producers report declining premiums for high-oleic sunflower seeds, which affects production volumes and the overall structure of foreign supplies.
Market analysts note that part of the high-oleic sunflower harvest is currently being sold as conventional sunflower due to strong demand for traditional raw materials and insufficient price differences. As a result, this situation is influencing the production volumes of high-oleic sunflower oil in Ukraine.
Traditionally, European countries have remained the main buyers of Ukrainian high-oleic products. However, in recent years the export structure has been gradually changing. Interest from China, the United States, Malaysia, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates is growing. Therefore, Ukrainian exporters are actively diversifying supply destinations and searching for new promising sales markets.
Experts also emphasize that logistics stability and the operation of maritime corridors remain key factors for the development of vegetable oil exports. The competitiveness of Ukrainian high-oleic oil on the global market largely depends on the efficiency of logistics routes.
Despite the challenging market environment, Ukraine continues to remain one of the world’s important suppliers of sunflower oil and is gradually adapting its export strategy to new global economic conditions.
